In a significant move to boost railway connectivity and passenger convenience, the Indian Railways has announced the commencement of a new Patna Delhi Amrit Bharat train between Rajendra Nagar (Patna) and New Delhi starting July 31, 2025. The initiative is expected to provide substantial relief to travelers on this heavily frequented route.

Patna Delhi Amrit Bharat Express: Route Details
The Patna–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will connect Bihar’s capital to the national capital with a streamlined and efficient service. The train will follow this route:
Rajendra Nagar → Patna → Danapur → Ara → Buxar → Deen Dayal Upadhyay → Subedarganj → Govindpuri → Ghaziabad → New Delhi
This addition to the Amrit Bharat Express fleet will offer improved travel comfort, faster journey times, and modern amenities making long-distance travel more accessible for passengers in Eastern India.
Two New Amrit Bharat Trains from Gomtinagar
In a parallel development, the Indian Railways is set to launch two additional Amrit Bharat Express services originating from Gomtinagar (Lucknow). These services will connect Darbhanga (Bihar) and Malda Town (West Bengal), enhancing rail access to North and Eastern India.
Both trains will begin operations as special services from July 18, and will be virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Motihari. According to the Railway Board, regular operations are expected to be announced shortly after.
1. Malda Town – Gomtinagar – Malda Town Amrit Bharat Express (Weekly)
- Departure (Malda Town): Every Thursday at 7:25 PM
- Arrival (Gomtinagar): Friday at 3:40 PM
- Return Departure (Gomtinagar): Friday at 6:40 PM
- Arrival (Malda Town): Saturday at 4:40 PM
This route will serve as a vital link for passengers traveling between eastern West Bengal and central Uttar Pradesh.
2. Darbhanga – Gomtinagar – Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express (Weekly)
- Train No. 15561 (Darbhanga → Gomtinagar):
Departs Saturday at 3:00 PM, arrives Sunday at 5:35 AM - Train No. 15562 (Gomtinagar → Darbhanga):
Departs Sunday at 8:15 AM, arrives 12:35 PM
The weekly train will cater to Bihar-bound travelers, offering a convenient and time-saving alternative to existing services.
