Indian Railways has announced seven new special trains between Varanasi and various cities in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Kanyakumari and Coimbatore. These trains are being operated as part of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 initiative, aimed at strengthening cultural and linguistic ties between Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
According to the Railway Ministry, these special trains will ensure smooth, direct and comfortable travel for thousands of visitors, students, artisans and cultural delegates traveling to Varanasi for the event. The services are designed to manage the festive rush and ensure crowd control through phase-wise operations.
New Special Trains From Tamil Nadu to Varanasi
A total of 7 trains from Tamil Nadu to Varanasi will operate on the dates listed below:
Outbound Trains (Tamil Nadu → Varanasi)
- 29 November 2025: First special train from Kanyakumari
- 2 December 2025: Second special train from Chennai
- 3 December 2025: Third special train from Coimbatore
- 6 December 2025: Fourth special train from Chennai
- 7 December 2025: Fifth special train from Kanyakumari
- 9 December 2025: Sixth special train from Coimbatore
- 12 December 2025: Seventh special train from Chennai
These trains will carry thousands of passengers to Varanasi, offering direct connectivity over long distances.
Return Special Trains From Varanasi to Tamil Nadu
Railways has also scheduled 7 return trains from Varanasi to ensure smooth travel back for all visitors.
