Check what Rail Minister Ashhwini Vaishnaw Discussed
New Delhi: In a bid to tackle overcrowding and enhance passenger safety, Indian Railways has announced that only confirmed ticket holders will be allowed to enter platforms at 60 busy railway stations, including Bengaluru. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed the decision after a high-level meeting with officials on Friday. This move aims to streamline operations at major stations that frequently experience heavy footfall, ensuring a smoother and safer travel experience for passengers.
The new rule is part of a broader effort to modernize railway infrastructure and improve crowd management. Alongside this measure, Indian Railways plans to build permanent infrastructure at these stations to handle passenger flow more effectively. This decision is expected to significantly reduce platform congestion, particularly during peak travel seasons, and enhance overall efficiency at these key hubs.
