New Delhi/Patna – In a major boost to railway connectivity for Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Patna and New Delhi on July 18, 2025. Regular service of this highly anticipated train will commence from July 20, offering a superfast, comfortable, and affordable travel experience.

Patna to Delhi in Just 10 Hours

The Amrit Bharat Express is designed to cover the approx. 1000 km distance between Patna and New Delhi in just 10 hours, thanks to its top speed of 130 kmph. This is significantly faster than conventional sleeper trains and will benefit thousands of daily passengers who rely on trains for long-distance travel.

22 Sleeper & General Coaches, No AC – But Better Amenities

This new train features 22 coaches, all sleeper and general class only no AC compartments. It has been especially designed for the common people, ensuring affordable fares while still offering a modern look and upgraded amenities.

  • Coach Type: Sleeper and General
  • Total Coaches: 22
  • Color Scheme: Modern orange and grey design
  • Facilities: Improved lighting, better ventilation, and convenient seating/sleeping arrangements

Despite the absence of AC coaches, the Amrit Bharat Express ensures comfort and efficiency, catering to budget-conscious travelers without compromising on quality.

Amrit Bharat Express Route & Stops (Tentative)

Though the full official route has not been released, reports suggest that the Patna–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will stop at 12 stations, including key cities in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh:

  1. Patna Junction (PNBE)
  2. Ara
  3. Buxar
  4. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction
  5. Mirzapur
  6. Prayagraj
  7. Kanpur
  8. Etawah
  9. New Delhi (NDLS)

More intermediate halts may be confirmed soon by the Indian Railways.

Patna Delhi Amrit Bharat Express Ticket Fare

The sleeper class fare for this new train is expected to be around ₹1065, slightly higher than typical sleeper trains due to:
