Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹9,000 crore in Mizoram, marking a major milestone in the region’s infrastructure journey. He said the new line will “connect Mizoram to Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi and other major cities,” while also boosting tourism and creating thousands of jobs.

- Chhimtuipui River Bridge: Foundation stone laid for the bridge on the Lawngtlai–Siaha Road, which will reduce travel time by two hours and provide all-weather connectivity.
