New Trains For Bihar: As Bihar prepares for the upcoming elections later this year, the Indian Railways has gifted the state with a major announcement. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has unveiled five new train services that will significantly improve connectivity between Bihar and several major cities across India.

- Patna – Delhi (Daily Service): A brand-new Amrit Bharat Express will run daily between Patna and the national capital Delhi, making travel faster and more convenient.
- Malda Town – Lucknow via Bihar: This Amrit Bharat Express will connect eastern India to Uttar Pradesh, passing through key regions of Bihar.
- Saharsa – Amritsar: Bihar will now have a direct Amrit Bharat Express connecting to Amritsar in Punjab.
- Jogbani – Erode (Tamil Nadu): A unique long-route connection from Bihar’s Jogbani to Erode in Tamil Nadu, also via Amrit Bharat Express.
1 Regular Weekly Express Train
- Darbhanga – Lucknow (Weekly): A new weekly express service will enhance connectivity between Darbhanga and the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
When Will These Trains Start?
Although the exact operational dates have not been officially announced, Railway Minister Vaishnaw stated that the inaugurations are likely to happen very soon. The introduction of these trains is expected to be completed before the Bihar assembly elections.

Big Infrastructure Projects for Bihar
In addition to the new trains, the Railway Minister also unveiled key rail infrastructure projects for Bihar worth thousands of crores. These include:
- ₹1,156 crore for the Bhagalpur–Jamalpur Third Line
- ₹2,017 crore for Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya Doubling Project
- ₹3,000 crore for Rampurhat–Bhagalpur Rail Line Doubling
These projects aim to boost passenger and freight rail services, reduce congestion, and improve rail safety and speed across the state.
