Namo Bharat

In a major relief for candidates appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Preliminary Examination 2025, special Namo Bharat train services have been announced by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

Early Start for Candidates Travelling to Meerut and Nearby Centres

The UPPSC Preliminary Exam is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2025, and to ensure the smooth travel of thousands of candidates, the Namo Bharat train services will begin two hours earlier than usual.

Revised Timings for October 12, 2025:

  • Service Start Time: 6:00 AM (instead of 8:00 AM)
  • Service End Time: 10:00 PM

This early start will help candidates reach examination centres in Meerut and nearby cities on time while easing traffic pressure on major routes between Delhi and Meerut.

Namo Bharat Train Route and Purpose

The Namo Bharat trains, part of the Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), currently operate between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South. These trains are designed for high-speed intercity travel, ensuring faster connectivity for commuters and reducing road congestion.

The special schedule aims to provide seamless travel for exam candidates while ensuring comfort and punctuality.

Officials from the NCRTC stated that the decision was made in coordination with the Delhi government and central authorities to assist candidates in reaching exam centres safely and on time.

Benefits for Passengers and the Public

Apart from the candidates, regular commuters will also benefit from the early operation of services, as it will help distribute passenger load more evenly throughout the day.

Officials added that passengers can check real-time schedules, routes, and train frequency through the NCRTC app or official website.

Transport experts believe this move demonstrates how coordinated planning between urban and intercity rail systems can improve public service delivery during large events and examinations.
